Vision, Mission, Values and Code of Conduct
VISION:
- To be part of a Jewish contemporary world where each of us is welcomed and feels like we are all related.
- To celebrate and share our Sephardi traditions
- To see our children develop pride in their Roots and joy in their culture and from there, engage with the world.
MISSION:
- Building a spiritual, cultural and educational Sephardi future on the foundations of our past.
VALUES:
- Being welcoming and inclusive, caring and supportive
- Celebrating the diversity in our Sephardi traditions
- Engaging with the Jewish and wider community
- Having fun and being creative
CODE OF CONDUCT:
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
- Respect for and by all our members, friends, visitors, employees
- Tolerance in recognising varied backgrounds and views
- Acceptance of our Rules, Customs and Practices
- Demonstrate only Common Decency to one another and never insult, shame, embarrass, bully, express malice, defame either in public or in private.
- Behave in a way that is respectful to others and mindful of their feelings
- We will not allow behaviour that degrades our community or threatens the enjoyment of our community. Such behaviour may lead to a temporary or permanent exclusion
IN THE EVENT OF A BREACH
- Apologise for the offensive behaviour
- Undertake to not repeat or breach any other guiding principles
- Where a claim is made, either show proof of the point or retract it and apologise
- Do so in a setting equal to that where the breach occurred eg publically/in writing
- Do so within 7 days of the occurrence
