2017 Lag LaOmer with Rambam Sephardi

Sunday, 14 May, 2017 18 Iyyar 5777

4:00 PM - 8:30 PMWell End Scout Campsite

For many generations, the inner soul of Torah -- the "Kabbalah" -- was kept secret, shared only amongst the trusted few.  Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai was the first to share its wisdom, particularly on the day he died, which was Lag LaOmer.  Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai instructed his disciples to celebrate this day as a joyous festival -- and so it is marked in every Jewish community to this day.

One of the ways in which we celebrate Lag LaOmer is to play with bows and arrows. The Lubavitcher Rebbe explains that as an arrow is drawn back to the heart to shoot and propelled from there, the bow-and-arrow symbolizes power from the mystic soul of Torah - the power unleashed by Kabbalah.  Kabbalah helps us to work from the soul – from our very connection with Gd – and from there to help project out The Light to all of Gd’s Creation.
